Targets.-Relates to targets built up of sections a forming concentric rings, and to electric apparatus for indicating the value of the shot to the marksman at the firing-point. The target segments overlap one another in order to prevent the bullets from striking between the joints, and are fixed by screws c to bars or tubes b, which are suspended by parallel #-shaped links h. When a section is struck by a bullet, a rubber buffer f at the rear end of the bar b forces in a push-piece l and completes an electric circuit through a contactmaker m and a corresponding electromagnet of the indicator. The attraction of the armature by the electromagnet releases a pivoted arm c carrying a disc, which falls in front of a section of the indicator corresponding to the target section which has been hit. The discs are returned to a vertical position, out of sight, by sliding frames d carrying bars k, which act on tail-pieces of the arms c. The frames d are connected by toggle-joints f and operated by a lever and weight j. The indicating- apparatus is protected by a casing fitted with a glass front. The different rings or values may be represented on separate dials, and the values of the shots may be recorded on a tape or other instrument.
