Abstract

4392. Pascal, F., and Izerable, L. Feb. 21. Cameras; roller slides; shutters.-Relates to a camera in which the roller slide and shutter are connected together by mechanism, so that when the roller slide is wound up after an exposure by a spring the shutter is also wound up. The shutter is of the double-blind type, one blind being mounted on the rollers A, B, and the other on the rollers A<1> B<1>, Fig. 1. The main actuating-spring is contained in a barrel R, Fig. 8, which is in gear with a fly governor T, and also with the winding- up roller Z, of the roller slide. On depressing the toothed wheel K, Fig. 6, it is thereby disengaged from the wheels G, a<1>. The pawl I is locked by a pin on the flat spring (not shown) on which the wheel K is mounted, and the wheel G is consequently locked. The wheels a<1>, D, C<1>, however, revolve under the influence of the spring in the roller B', which unwinds one of the blinds and rotates the roller A' on which a' is mounted. The pin e revolves with the wheel C<1> until it strikes a pawl and liberates the concentric-wheel C, which releases the roller A of the second blind. When both blinds are unwound, one a little in advance of the other, the exposure is complete. The pressure on the wheel K is then released, thereby putting the wheels a<1>, G again into gear and releasing the pawl I, which is pulled back by the spring r. The spring in the barrel R is then free to drive the whole train, winding up the exposed section of the blind on the roller Z, thereby rotating the top roller of the roller slide, which actuates the wheel G and, through its train of gearing, winds up both the shutter blinds ready for another exposure.
