Abstract

22,193. Amphlett, E. M. Nov. 4. Games imitating cricket.-The game is played with a base board B, Fig. 1, to which is attached a figure b provided with a pivoted bat i, which is normally held down by the upturned end k of levers l, shown separately in Fig. 3, and against the pressure of a spring-pressed rod e. By pressing down the end o of the levers l, the bat j is released and is forced up to the position shown in dotted lines. The player who releases the levers l also moves the board B so as to place the figure in position to strike the ball, which is thrown by another player. The wickets are fitted in a crosspiece s provided with weighted feet t. An elastic strip v prevents the bails from falling off from the concussion of the ball when it strikes the lower part of the cross-piece.
