Abstract

19,063. Blezinger, R. Sept. 24. Corks, retaining.-For securing corks in bottles containing effervescent beverages &c., a fastener made from a single piece of wire, as shown in Fig. 4, is employed. The pointed ends c of the wire are adapted to be inserted in the cork, as shown in Fig. 3, and serve as pivots to enable the bow a to be clipped on and detached from the neck of the bottle, as required. The arms b are bent to conform to the shape of the neck, and are bent at g under the bow a, the wire being also bent to form spiral windings f between the parts b, a. The ends c may also be placed over the cork and connected by a tubular or flat cross-piece. The wire is preferably enamelled to prevent it from rusting.
