Abstract

11,693. Valley, G. June 7. Steering-mechanism.-The front and rear wheels of cycles are mounted in revoluble forks to facilitate steering, and the spindles A, B which turn in the frame C are connected together by the coupling-rod D. The spindles may be coupled together on the same or on opposite sides. The saddle G and the fork E are rigidly connected to the rear spindle B, and turn with it. The leverage of the coupling-rod D at the rear spindle can be altered by adjusting the movable rod in the tube or casing as shown in Fig. 2.
