Abstract

8454. Dittmar, G. April 24. Meters. -Ordinary gas meters are adapted to measure high - pressure gases, by enclosing them within a casing which contains gas at the same or approximately the same pressure as that of the gas to be measured. Fig. 1 shows a meter a enclosed in a casing b, into which gas enters through an inlet c. The gas leaves by the outlet d. Either the inlet or the outlet may be connected directly to the meter, or both can be so connected. In the latter case, the casing b is filled independently with some highpressure gas.
