Abstract

7379. Bobrick, G. A. Nov. 8, A.D. 1900, [date applied for under Sec. 103 of Patents &c. A.D. 1883]. Refrigerators.-Liquefied air or other gas is used as the cooling-agent in refrigerators. The liquid air &c. is contained in an insulated receptacle B, from which lead two pipes E, F, one of which dips to the bottom and the other opens from the top of the receptacle. These pipes are connected through cocks e, f to pipes leading to coils H, K, L in the various compartments of the refrigerator, and the coils are also provided with inlet and outlet cocks. By adjusting the various cocks, the pressure is regulated so that the liquid is forced into the coils, and there evaporates to produce the cooling effect.
