Abstract

7045. Dieckhoff, H. H. J. April 3. Docks.-A floating dock, shown in cross-section in Fig. 2, comprises a base part A and two side parts B, D divided by water-tight bulkheads a into compartments b, c, d, f, i. The compartments c, i form permanent air chambers of sufficient capacity to support the dock at the level H when the other compartments b, d, f are full of water. To raise the loaded dock, water is pumped out of the com- partments b, d, and the water in the compartments f runs out through the valves h, which are operated either automatically or by hand.
