2339. Bachrach, D. Feb. 4. Nitro-cellulose compounds. - Celluloid and like compounds are made with 30 to 60 per cent. of sulphate or phosphate of lime or other salt or substance to render them non-inflammable, or not easily inflammable. Sulphate of lime may be added as such, but preferably nitro-cellulose and camphor are mixed with lime or its carbonate, or other base, and sulpburic, phosphoric, or other acid is added.
