Dyeing.-In the process of printing textile materials with indigo, described in Specification No. 22,402, A.D. 1900, consisting essentially in the use with indigo of a solid hydrosulphite and a weakly-alkaline substance or salt acting as an alkali, a suitable solvent for indigo-white, other than a weakly-alkaline substance, or salt acting as an alkali, is employed. Suitable substances for this purpose are acetine, glycerine, and turkey-red oil, and examples are given illustrating the use of these substances in printing woollen, silk, and cotton goods with indigo.
