24,700. Wylie, T. B. Dec. 12. Meters.-Relates to fluid meters in which a proportion of the fluid passing through a conduit or main is passed through a tally meter. An inlet chamber b is separated from an outlet c by a partition b<1>, the opening b<2> of which is controlled by a valve d mounted on a stem d' suspended from the inner walls of the casing a by links d<2>, d<3>, one of which d' may be provided with a weight d<4> or a spring. An arm e connects the stem d' to a valve f, controlling the opening f<2> into a passage f<3> leading to a controlling-chamber g, in which diaphragms h, h<1> and caps h' form chambers h<3>, h<4> connected by pipes respectively to the chambers b, c. The diaphragms h, h<1> are connected by links k<1>, k<2> to a double rock-arm k in the chamber g, and a link l<1> connects an arm k<3> of this rock-arm to a butterfly valve l controlling an opening l<2> leading from the chamber g to a delivery chamber m, which is connected by a pipe m<1> to a tally meter n. A pipe n<1> connects the tally meter to the chamber c. The fluid may also be arranged to pass in the reverse direction from the tally meter to the chamber g.
