13,634. Gaufroy, F. July 1. Ruling-pens.-The object is to vary the thickness of the lines without altering the adjustment. The nibs or blades C are carried by two parts A, B forming the handle ; these parts are pivoted at D, and the nibs pressed together for the fine lines by a spring E, exact adjustment being effected by a screw F working loosely through the part and screwing into the part B. When a thick line is required, the parts A, B are squeezed together while ruling, separating the nibs as far as is permitted by a similar screw G, previously adjusted.
