Abstract

9705. Cleathero, E. T. May 9. Delivery apparatus.-Relates to means for delivering and knocking-up sheets from printing and other machines. Fig. 5 shows a plan of the delivery board 1 and knocking-up mechanism, with the flyers and flyer shaft removed. The fixed end stop 6 and side stops 7 are fixed on the ends of arms 9 pivoted on arms 10 pivoted on the board 1, set-screws 11 being provided for fixing the parts in their adjusted positions. The movable top fence or beater 16 is pivoted at 19, 19 to links 17, 18 pivoted at 20, 20 to the board 1, and is moved diagonally by a link 27 connecting the fence 16 to a reciprocating bar 21 moving in guides 22. The bar 21 is operated by a rod 26 and bell-crank lever 24, the latter being operated by a chain 23 connecting it to the flyer shaft. The movable end fence or beater 30 is mounted adjustably on an arm 31 on a block 32 adjustably fixed on the bar 21. The arm 31 is pivoted to the block 32 at 33, and is fixed in the desired position by means of the screw and curved slot 35, 36. The side stops 7 are slotted vertically to allow the flyer fingers to pass down close to the board 1, and the flyer fingers are adjustable longitudinally to their shaft by set-screws.
