Electric locomotives and motor vehicles.-In electric railway trains having several motor cars with rotary phase current motors, all the motors B are controlled from one point by means of a single set of conductors a by providing at the driver's platform a suitable electric pressure-regulating apparatus E, which is included in the leads connecting the field-magnet windings of all the motors, in combination with a resistance D included in the armature circuit of each motor. The pressureregulating apparatus is shown as a transformer with a step switch to give a variable transforming ratio and taking current from the line conductors c.
