Bottles etc.; stoppers; emptying bottles &c.- Relates to vessels for liquids having stoppers or valves which can be opened for delivery of liquid by raising a glass or other receptacle beneath them. In Fig. 2 a vessel A is shown delivering liquid into a test-tube D, the liquid flowing through the valve B<2> into the funnel C fixed to the valve stem, and thence through the aperture b. When the testtube is withdrawn, the valve B<2> closes the bottom of the vessel, and the stopper B<1> at the same time closes the aperture at the top. The stopper B<1> is preferably formed as a cap fitting loosely on the valve stem. For laboratory use, a number of the vessels A may be supported by perforated shelves with a trough below to catch any liquid that may drip. Fig. 5 shows a vessel for delivering measured quantities of a liquid such, for instance, as whiskey. The stem I carries valves I<1>, I<2>, and is surrounded by the tube H carrying stoppers H<1>, H<2>. When the valve I' is opened, liquid flows through the apertures h<1> and fills the measuring- vessel G. On the glass D being raised in contact with the projecting arms i<1>, the valve I' is closed and the valve I<2> opened, allowing the liquid measured off to flow into the glass.
