Fig. 1 shows, in section, a pipe having the divided stem and mouthpiece pushed into the tubular portion a' of the stem. The two halves b, c are formed with corresponding grooves and ribs e as shown in Fig. 5. A chamber j is formed in the inner portion. Modifications may be made in the section of the stem. In Fig. 10, the parts b, c are formed with inclined faces l, and a rib k fits a groove d which also serves as the smoke passage.
