26,931. Wilson, J. Dec. 21. Filter-presses; cleansing.-Relates to presses of the kind described in Specification No. 18,074, A.D. 1898. The rollers round which the cloth is wound are carried on the plates only, two at the top, and one at the bottom, of each. The upper one of the two rollers by which the cloth is moved is carried in bearings which are connected with the bearings of the lower roller by straps and cottars, or in some other detachable manner. The brushes are carried on a bed-plate which runs on rails under the press, and below which, and also running on rails, is a tray to receive the cakes. The rails may be prolonged so that a number of presses may be served by one set of brushes and one tray. The brushes are carried in arms G<7>, Fig. 9, pivoted at G<8> and pressed towards the cloth rollers D' by springs G<12>. The brushes are all drawn out of action at once by links G<9> and pins G<10>. During the brushing operation, the plates and frames are separated by distance-pieces, Fig. 6, made in two parts D<6>, D<8> hinged together, so that the parts D<8> can be turned out of the way when the press is closed, Fig. 8.
