Abstract
26,355. Ranking, G. S. A. Dec. 13. Boat lowering and disengaging gear.-The boat is suspended from a pair of levers b, b pivoted together at c, to which the falls are hooked at e, e. The levers are held in line by a chain h secured by a hand-released device m. Just before the boat is water-borne, the device m is operated so that the levers assume the positions shown in dotted lines and release the boat. Instead of pivoting the levers b to one another, they may be hinged to a central bar or beam to which the chain h is secured. Or they may be pivoted to a central weight which assists to keep them in line.
