24,260. Fliegel, J. Nov. 17. Chucks and like work-holders.-Relates to appliances for holding articles of glass or pottery during grinding or other operations. Fig. 1 shows a device for holding bottles while grinding their mouths. The bottom of the bottle is centered by a conical socket f adjusted by a screw e, and the neck is held by spring fingers h<1>, which are tightened by screwing up a cap g<1>. In the device shown in Fig. 2, the bottle is held at the base by springs k<1>, and the neck is secured in the mouth of the sleeve b<1> by wedge pieces m, which are forced up by a sliding sleeve n, a lever p, and a screwed collar o. In another form, the neck of the bottle is held by pivoted levers which are tightened up by a screwed collar.
