Abstract

19,769. Layman, H. D., Layman, F., Parpart, F. W. Sept. 17. Rowing-apparatus.-Inflatable boats such as that shown are propelled by oars or paddles with hinged blades 26, Fig. 3. The stems or looms 24 are attached by spring hinges to the boat, and are actuated by levers 28 operated by the hands or feet of the occupant sitting on the seat 22. The feet are in a recess 20 in the bottom, and are connected to the levers by cords. Centreboards and drop-keels.-A boat of the form shown in Fig. 3 may have strapped to it a false bottom made in sections as shown in Figs. 6 and 8. A centreboard 53 is connected to this false bottom by pins passing through bosses 51 and 52.
