Fog and audible signals.-The detonator consists of an outer bottom case a, an inner case b containing the explosive, percussion caps and nipples, an inner cover c of the form shown, and an outer cover d. The flange c<1> of the cover c is deeper than the flanges of a and b. When the parts are fitted together, the flanges of a, b, and c are bent inward, as shown in Fig. 3, the cover c serving to prevent the entrance of moisture. The lead or other fastening-strip e, instead of being affixed to the bottom of the detonator, is passed through slits d', d' in the cover d, to which it may also be secured by soldering.
