23,853. Ludlow, F. A. Nov. 30. Fog and audible signals.-An ordinary detonator A is combined with a ring-shaped detonator C, to form a duplex signal. The detonator C is formed of a base-plate c' and a cover c', with an annular plate D carrying the detonator nipples d<2>, d<4>, &c. In the form shown, the flanges of the base-plate c' are bent over the sides of the cover. Other methods of connecting the base-plate and the cover of the casing are described, in which flanges on one or other or both parts are folded over the corresponding edges of the other part or parts. The lead clips B of the detonator A are passed through the centre of the detonator C, in which the detonator A is supported by its shoulder a'. The detonators may be used in the position shown, or inverted. In the latter case, the strips B are bent round the outside of the detonator C. The detonators may also be detached and used separately.
