Acetylene and like burners.-The deposition of carbon and the consequent choking of the burner orifices are prevented by causing air to mingle with the gas prior to combustion. Both the inner and the outer walls of the steatite tip B of the argand burner A are continued above the gas orifices D, and are formed with holes F through which air enters. The gas and air thus mix in the annular chamber E, on the top of which the flame rests.
