Abstract
4946. Cox, H. W. March 1. Advertising.-Electric lamps are arranged in groups, as shown in Fig. 5, and some are lighted to form letters, the invention relating to the manner in which the particular lamps are selected or lighted. One set of contacts is carried on blocks k, the other set, which makes contact with the first to complete the circuit, consisting of fingers b carried on cylinders c. The fingers b are pivoted to rods g, and are limited in their upward and downward movement by rods h. The fingers which are to be thrown out of action are lifted, and a rod i thrust between them and the others on the rod g. The cylinders are intermittently rotated by cam and ratchet gearing.
