Abstract

3296. Burton, C. V. Feb. 9. Soldering.-An alloy for soldering aluminium consists of tin with a small proportion of aluminium. Small pieces of the alloy are applied to the edges or surfaces of the aluminium to be united and melted on, being stirred while molten. Metallic tin may be added at this stage. Other metals may be soldered to aluminium by first tinning and then applying to the aluminium treated as above.
