Abstract

29,690. Ayton, R. C. Dec. 15. Drawings to Specification. Vapour engines.-A soluble gas, such as ammonia, is employed in a closed circuit for the production of motive power. Liquid containing the gas is heated in a generator, and the gas thus driven off under pressure is employed in a suitable motor. The exhaust gas is re-absorbed in cool liquid, which is then passed into the generator to take the place of the impoverished solution. The latter is withdrawn and cooled for re-use as the absorbent.
