Abstract
28,066. Adams, A. W. Nov. 29. Sliding bolts.-The socket of a door, window, or like bolt has a spring plug which rises flush with the floor when the bolt is withdrawn, to prevent dust &c. from accumulating in the socket. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a screw 19 passes through the socket 13 and limits the movement of the tubular plug 16 under the action of the spring 20. A screw plug 17 is inserted in the top of the plug 18. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the plug is retained by a second cover-plate 22, Fig. 4 shows a slight modification of this, a liner 24 being used. Or a screw 28, Fig. 9, may be used. Several other slight modifications for retaining the plug are described. The socket may be made to suit bolts of any section.
