Abstract

27,915. Bobbett, W. Nov. 27. Locking-apparatus to prevent theft ; steering- mechanism, locking. A fork a, pivoted to a clip b encircling the steering-socket c, may be turned down to engage the brake rod, as shown in Fig. 1, and so prevent the steering-stem from turning. Or the fork a may be arranged to turn upwards and engage a lug on the head clip. Fig. 3 shows another form, in which a catch h, pivoted to a clip i encircling the top bar c, may be turned to engage one of a series of notches formed in a plate j secured to the head clip. Padlocks may be used to lock the parts in position, as shown, and so prevent theft.
