Saddle supports; frames; axles, cranked, supporting. -The saddle piliar 6 is continued downwards through the tube 2 of the frame and screwed into a sliding block 9, carrying the crank bracket 8. The weight on the saddle and on the crank axle is carried by a spring, as shown. Grooves 10, Fig. 4, in the socket 9 engage with studs 12 fixed to the tube 2 so as to prevent the crank bracket from turning. A screw 7 engaging a groove in the saddle pillar serves the same purpose, and may also be used to fix the saddle pillar to the frame.
