10,710. Jones, F. June 2. Driving-chains.-The driving- chain of a bicycle, tricycle, or other velocipede is lubricated by a block of graphite, blacklead, French chalk, &c. mounted in the holder a. The holder is supported on the metal strip b clamped to the framing, and is adjusted by bending the strip b or by altering its position. Blocks of blacklead, such as are used for domestic purposes, are conveniently employed. The chain may be lubricated by a cylindrical block of blacklead or French chalk mounted on a spindle on which it can rotate.
