Abstract

187,754. Harvey, C. W. Aug. 15, 1921. Rotary - mould - table machines; tamping- machines; feeding.-In a concrete block &c. moulding machine having an intermittingly rotated table, a feed hopper, and an automatically operated pressure member, the material is automatically agitated in the hopper by vertically movable members 50, Fig. 4, which also fill the moulds and tamp the material therein. The various parts are driven from a main shaft 2, which engages a shaft 7 through spur gearing. A mutilated gear wheel 8 on the shaft 7 meshes intermittently with a toothed wheel 9, thus rotating a wheel 12 having pinions which engage a rack on the inner circumference of the table. The latter is locked during filling by rods 21, which are raised to engage stops 22 by links and levers 18, 19, 20 operated by a cam 17 on the wheel 8. The tamping members 50 are also actuated intermittingly by the wheel 8 engaging a pinion 39, which rotates a chain 45 through wheels 44, 42 on a shaft 43, and thus operates the shaft 47. The pressing member 51 and the pallet feed are operated in conjunction by a rod 53 reciprocated through a duplicated bell crank lever 54 by a crank 56 on a wheel 4 on the shaft 2, the bell crank levers also actuating a spring controlled bed plate 61, Fig 8 through a connecting rod 60. The pressing member has guide rods 59 which engage in holes in the moulds and is suspended from a bifurcated lever 37 pivoted at its divided end to the machine frame 1 and at the other end to the rod 53. The moulds 25 are open at top and bottom, and pallets are supplied thereto from a magazine 26 by means of reciprocating arms 27, 27<a>, Fig. 6, operated through link mechanism by a rod 35, which is in turn reciprocated by the rod 53 through a sleeve 34 and link 36. The ejector mechanism, Fig. 9. comprises a pair of angle irons 68 mounted on racks 69 engaged by a gear wheel 70 operated through rack and pinion gearing 74, 72 by a crank rod 75 on a shaft 77, which is in turn driven from the main shaft 2 through a mutilated wheel.
