Abstract

187,285. Prentice, H. B. June 27, 1921. Mounting shades directly on rods or tubes.-A holder for the shade of an electric incandescent lamp consists of a spiral spring, the upper turn of which bears on a flange J on the lamp socket and the lowest turn of which has two sets of bends L<1>, L<2> and L<3>, L' in planes at right-angles to each other. The bends L<1>, L<2> pass freely over spurs M which stand out from the lamp socket and when the holder has been turned sufficiently on the socket the bends- L<3>, L<4> are lowered so as to engage the spurs M and prevent further rotation of the holder.
