Abstract

186,190. Turner, H. July 8, 1921. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. - A vacuumcleaner nozzle is so constructed that the air, before it enters the passage between the nozzle and the surface to which the nozzle is applied, is directed by the body of the nozzle along the said surface. Figs. 1 and 3 show a form of nozzle adapted for cleaning shelves, the enlarged flattened portion of the nozzle causing air to pass over the surface of the shelf before entering the nozzle at a. Preferably a band of wash-leather d is fastened over the end of the nozzle to protrude slightly beyond the lip c, thus raising the lip b slightly to admit the air. The nozzle may be formed of electrically non-conducting material such as vulcanized fibre for cleaning telephone exchange, multiple jacks.
