Abstract
185,371. Thomas, F. V. March 17, 1922. Fish tanks and aquaria.-False bottoms B, Fig. 2, fitted in the troughs D of the corrugated base of an aquarium for the preservation or culture of live fish, fish ova, and aquatic animals, have openings C at intervals controlled by slides K mounted on and operated by rods ML, which are manually actuated through rods P connected thereto. The troughs D communicate with a sluice-box E having a main outlet G controlled by a valve J, through which impure water &c. is withdrawn. A removable sheet of perforated zinc R covered in shingle prevents matter from settling and clogging the slide bearings. A tank supported above the aquarium supplies water thereto from a tap in its base.
