Abstract

184,422. Palmer, E. T. Feb. 1, 1922. Elevated railways. - Runway rail ends A, B are aligned and joined by brackets or arms C, D secured to each section and conjointly forming an eye p for the suspension of the joint by a single wire. The arms are offset laterally and have T-heads g entering recesses d in the rails. The heads have shanks f which pass through slots a in the rails and are provided with bevelled shoulders k engaged by similar faces on blocks m which are drawn together by a bolt o to secure and align the rail ends. In a modification, the heads g are replaced by nus on threaded shanks f.
