Rotary cylinder, prism, and like apparatus.- A van for delivering a number of tradesmen's goods is provided with an indicator operated from the driver's seat whereby any particular tradesman's name can be exhibited. Also the goods are stored in the van so that ready access to any tradesman's good can be obtained. The irdicator comprises a polygonal roller 1, mounted in an apertured casing 3 and carrying a name on each of its faces. The roller is rotated by a lever 5 which has a lever 6 pivoted at its upper end. When the lever 10 is operated, the lever 6 engages one tooth of a ratchet-wheel 4, mounted on the roller spindle, and rotates the roller 1, the full movement into indicating position being completed by a spring arm 8 adapted to engage the ratchet teeth. An index indicator comprising a disc 11 is located in the front wall of the van and is operated by the spring 14 attached to the lever 5. When the lever 5 is operated, the turned-in end of the spring 14 rides over the pins 13 on the disc, but on return of the lever, the spring engages one of the pins and the disc is rotated, thereby indicating the name exhibited on the main indicator. In order that empty rear trays may be removed, and to facilitate access to the goods of the various tradesmen, portions 21, Fig. 5, of the rails 20 are pivoted to the sides of the van and are held in position by catches 22 engaging spring arms 23. When the arms 23 are moved back the pivoted portions drop due to the weight thereon and allow the empty trays to be pushed on to the lower rails. Arms 24 pivoted to the sides of the van allow the trays to be pushed into the van but prevent, by means of the stops 25, the trays from being pulled back to allow the pivoted rails to drop. The trays are of such a length that, until the arms 24 are lifted, one part will always rest on the fixed rails.
