Incrustation, preventing and removing.- Linseed is immersed in water heated to a temperature below boiling-point and the viscous liquid which is formed by the solution of the grease or slime on the husk of the seeds is separated off and added to the feed-water or directly into the boiler. Common soda or other alkali may be added to the liquid to prevent fermentation.
