Abstract

180,178. Huchshorn, J. P. April 26, 1921. Carding-engines.-The travelling flats are withdrawn at one or more points from operative contact with the main cylinder and are stripped by suction. A suction chamber 8 is arranged in a prismatic body 7 of substantially triangular section, which is adapted to divert the flats 1 from the cylinder 2. The chamber 8 is slotted along the top and is connected at each end by pipes 9 to a pipe 10 common to a row of carding-engines. The pipes 10 lead to a main pipe 11, which may be connected to a sifting-drum, adapted to collect the fibres.
