Abstract

178,407. MacLean, J. P. April 13, 1921, [Convention date]. Spring devices.-In spring forks for cycles &c., of the type in which a pair of bell-crank levers 10, Fig. 2, are jointed at 9 to the lower ends of the fork 5 and are secured upon the wheel spindle 11, levers 13 are pivoted at 14 to the fork 5 and are controlled at one end by a spring 15, their other ends being connected by jointed links 17 to the rear arms of the bell-crank levers 10. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the fork proper is formed in two parts 20, 21, the prong part 21 being jointed at 19 to the part 20 and controlled at the upper end by a spring 22, while the other members are similar to those shown in Fig. 2.
