Abstract

178,259. Read, A. E. Feb. 22, 1921. Calendars.-A perpetual calendar comprises a frame with twelve apertures in the front one for each month and arranged in four rows through which are exposed the days of the months that are marked in slanting columns on strips passing over pairs of rollers mounted in the frame, the month and day names being permanently marked on the frame. The figures for the first three months of the year are on separate strips, while those for each three consecutive remaining months are on single strips. The rollers, excepting those a, a<1>, b, b<1> for the January and March strips, extend across the frame and are held in position by wires Z attached to the frame engaging grooves in the rollers. A current date indicator is provided consisting of a plug and a slidable pointer passing through the plug, the indicator being inserted in holes in the frame. Four discs D-G marked with the numerals 0-9 are mounted near the top of the frame and a numeral of each disc is exposed through a corresponding aperture to denote the year. The figures for the February strip are repeated for leap years.
