Abstract

177,512. Automatic Telephone Manufacturing Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Erickson, J.). March 28, 1921, [Convention date]. Selectors.-In an automatic switch of the Strowger type, a bracket member (shown separately in Fig. 3) formed of cold rolled steel, carries the off-normal springs 135, the interrupter springs 120 of the rotary magnet and such other parts as the lug 140 carrying the rotary-pawl guide 119, the stationary detent 125 and the stop 138 for the vertical pawl, and is arranged to act as a reinforcement to the main casting of the switch. The vertical ratchet teeth 110, Fig. 2, are provided at one side with a second set of teeth 111 offset from the first. These additional teeth are engaged by the vertical detent 108 during the vertical movement of the switch, whilst at the first rotary step they are moved clear of the detent, thus avoiding the necessity for the slight lifting of the switch shaft which usually accompanies this step.
