Mountings. - In a system for controlling a movable mass such as a gun from a distance in accordance with the movements of an observing instrument, there are provided, in view of the operator controlling the gun, indicating instruments in adjacent position and showing respectively the positions of the observing instrument and of the gun. As shown in Fig. 3, a telescope L is connected to a ring c<1> carrying a contact r' and a constantly driven disc o<11>carries a contact Q<1> co-operating therewith to connect a source of current once per revolution to the circuit R<11>. A similar arrangement controlled by the gun feeds a circuit K<12>. At the gun controlling station two spark-gaps e<1>, e<2> carried on insulating discs o<1>, o<2> are driven synchronously with the discs o<11>, o<12> and connected to circuits K<1>, K<2>. The discs are driven at such a speed that the sparks produce the effect of continuous points of light, the positions of which correspond to those of the telescope and the gun. The control station and the observation post may be combined. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes an arrangement in which the indicating arrangements are situated at the gun which is manually controlled.
