Abstract

176,677. Monro, G. March 18, 1921. Lids.-A rigid lid for a basket of the kind described in Specification 167,705 comprises a top piece and a pair of transverse battens c which project beyond the edges of the top piece and form a recess adapted to receive the handle of the basket. The top piece may be composed of two flat pieces of wood a, b, and may be strengthened by four or more transverse battens. The lid is sprung into place on the basket by depressing the handle, and is secured in position by binding-twine passed through the recesses e formed in the lid.
