Holders.-In telescopic gas holders, the cup portions of the holders are strengthened and retained in circular form by providing the bottom plates a<2>, b<2>, c<2>, Fig. 1, with continuous plates e which extend round the circumference of the holder, and are attached to it by means of vertical stays h provided with horizontal foot portions h<1>, with the edges of which the plates e above are capable of contacting when the lifts are down. In a modification, Fig. 3, the bottom plates of the cups are provided by the plates e themselves, angle-pieces a<3>, b<3>, c' being included for attachment of the plates e to the upright parts of the cups; the outer projecting ends e<1> of the plate may be mounted with wheels for making peripheral contact with the sides of the vertical stays h. In another modification the strengthening-plates are attached to the sheeting of the lift in close proximity to the bottom of the corresponding cup.
