Abstract

Gaiters.-A housing for a laminated spring comprises a divisible box-like structure 1, 1<a> which encloses the springs 2 adjacent to the spring clips 3, and is provided with beads 4 adapted to be sleeved by the inner end of a seamless flexible gaiter 5. The outer end of the gaiter encloses a box 6 carrying the shackle bolts or the like, and the boxes and gaiters constitute a fluid-tight envelope. The inner part 1<a> of the box is nipped by the spring clips 3 between the inner or lower spring blade and the spring seat 7. According to the invention, the outer part 1 covering the spring clips is secured by means of independent set pins or bolts to the inner part. A filling orifice 8 for lubricant is provided. In the case of a quarter-elliptic spring, the divisible box-like structure encloses the anchored end of the spring.
