Abstract

Surface-tension processes and apparatus. - In the concentration of ores by flotation oil-saturated compressed air is introduced into the pulp in the lower part of the mixing vessel by means of a centrifugal or whirling sprinkling-jet. The pulp is fed by a pipe 3 to a compartment 2 in a vessel 1, and air from a pipe 7 and oil from a pipe 9, mixed in an injector 8, issue from a jet 5 which is preferably of the form shown in Fig. 2. The froth is discharged at an outlet 11.
