Abstract

174,248. Bridgwood, W. D. Nov. 13, 1920. Spring surfaces. - Padded upholstery is formed by first folding and stitching the outer leather along the lines 1, then creasing the leather along lines 2, securing the backing by sewing it to the leather along the folded creases 2, and finally stuffing the pleats 6. The leather and backing are not attached along the lines 1, and the stuffing 7 may be introduced into the patterned portion of the upholstery from either end of the creased pleats 6.
