Abstract
173,506. Svenska Aktiebolaget Gasaccumulator. Dec. 31, 1920, [Convention date]. Storing under pressure; filtering.-A receiver for storing gas such as acetylene, and containing a porous filling mass, is provided with a yielding or expanding cushion which separates the filling mass from the outflow opening, and acts as a filter and as a means for preventing the spread of any accidental flame into the receiver, and also to hold the filling mass under pressure to prevent the formation of holes therein. In the apparatus. shown, the filling mass 2 having been introduced and packed to the required porosity, the fibrous cushion 5 is pushed in through the opening 3 leading to the outlet valve casing 4 and com. pressed. Holes 6 are formed in the cushion and are lined with iron wire netting to prevent their filling in. The cushion may be formed of asbestos, vegetable, or other fibre.
