Abstract

172,898. Brailsford, R. S., and Marchent & Morley, Ltd., C. March 24, 1921. Self-aligning bearings; adjusting for wear. - A selfaligning bearing consisting of a spherical part 6 mounted in a pedestal 13, is provided with means for adjusting the brasses 4 carried solely by the part 6. The brasses are adjusted by wedges 5 having stems 12 extending through tubes 9 which pass through openings in the cap of the bearing. Adjusting-nuts 7 and washers 8 bear upon the tops of the tubes 9, which are either integral with the part 6 or bear against shoulders.
