172,805. Winterbotham, C. W. Oct. 12, 1920. Electric hand-irons are provided with a coil of wire in series with the heating-coil in order to indicate when the current is on. The heating- coil D is wound on a mica plate C and clamped with an asbestos sheet N between a lower pad A and an upper cap M in which is a hole P, the sides of which are red finished and protected by a mica sheet, containing a coil in series with the heating-coil. The hole is covered by an embossed mica window held in place by a cover plate Q.
